ToastyRobtm Productions Presents:

November, 2015:  Hello.  Been a long time, hasn't it.  Ok, so I had a nice long blog post written, but it looks like it didn't actually save.  So now I'll just give you the short version.  The last time I was here was back in April of 2012, that was shortly before things went bad for us.  Just a couple months after that we learned that one of the twins we were expecting had past away.  This posed a number of problems for Aaliyah, the surviving twin.  She did make it, and is now 3 years old and in school.  However, she does have special needs and keeps us very busy.  One and a half years after her another little girl joined our family.  Melody.  She has a heart of gold and a personality that doesn't quit.  In the past few weeks we've taken up a new hobby with her, blind bag/box reveals.  We've been posting the videos to our ToastyRob Productions YouTube Channel (link below).  So go ahead, check them out.

April 23, 2012: Oh my. Has it really been a year since I was last here? That's just embarrassing, to be honest. I'll have to change that. Time to get off my carcass and put more work into this site. So moving forward, more updates more often. In other news, in a few months there will be a couple new additions to the Toasty-Jade family. This time they're of the human variety. Yes, my wife and I are expecting twins. Twins. So there have been many many changes around here, and still many many more to come. So, for the first time in a year (wow) there's a new (mis)Adventures comic strip posted. Go and enjoy.

April 22, 2011:  Happy Easter!  Well, close enough, right?  Speaking of "close enough"... The crew is getting closer and closer to the treasure.  If you forgive their little side trip from last time, that is.  And with the Captain at the wheel, you never know what might happen.  And so....let's go check in on the crew.  That's right, new comic up tonight!  Late night update.  Enjoy!

February 26, 2011:  You know what?  It's cold out there.  Snow is still on the ground, spring is right around the corner, and temperatures are in the single digits.  There's a new strip up today, inspired by the snow, courtesy of my wifey.  So be sure to stop by there and check it out during your stay here.  Well...I'm sure that's why you're here.  For the comics.  Not to read my little blog posts.  I get it.  I understand.  No no, it's ok.  I'll just be....I'll be here.  Enjoy.

February 8, 2011:  Greetings from the snowy north east!  We've gotten more snow this past month than we have in the past few years.  But we're all dug out now, and everyone's feeling a but jumpy.  There doesn't seem to be a shortage of panic when weathermen report even just a slight chance of snow from a possible storm.  The lot has snow drifts well higher than I am tall.  So today there's a new (mis)Adventures strip up today.  Go check it out, looks like the plot is starting to pick up.......

January 11, 2011:  HAPPY 2011!  Hope your '11 will be better than your '10.  And with a new year comes a new approach.  I'm taking the crew to FaceBook.  Check out the fan page HERE.  Like it, follow it, get notified of updates here instantly.

October 29, 2010: Ahoy there mateys!  Welcome back to ToastyRob Productions.  Things are picking up more and more around here, and as a result I find myself with less and less time.  So I've not been able to get any work done on things I'd like to.  Forgive me?  I hope you do, because today I've got another (mis)Adventures strip up today.  Go check it out, hurry!  Today is the 29th, just a couple of days away from Halloween.  Have a costume ready?  Any good plans?  I'm working on a pirate costume (big surprise!), and it's coming together nicely.  At this year's Rennaisance Faire I managed to pick up a decent hat.  That was the one part I've had trouble finding, so now it's just adding little accessories.  If you're nice enough, you might just get lucky and see a picture of it fully put together.  And I have to gather up the Renn Faire photos and get those up here.  And one last thing....once upon a time I used back drops on the comic strips, remember those?  Well, they got ruined and I had to toss them.  So lately I've just been using plain backings, it's getting dull.  If anyone has any talent doing backgrounds please get back to me (my email is in "Contact Me", or through FaceBook).  I'm looking for exterior backgrounds (sky, ocean, etc), and interiors that could be used for the ship primarily right now.  So anyone willing to work with me on this, let me know.

July 26, 2010Felt inspired today.  Did a new (mis)Adventures strip.  That's posted.  It was the first one I've done since getting my new new laptop.  With a 17" monitor versus the 15" I've been using for past strips I was able to play around more with sizing so I did a few different panel positionings.  Looks pretty good over all.  I think I'll be taking more advantage of the larger screen in future strips as well.  Shall see what I am capable of.

March 1, 2010:  So uhh.....Happy New Year?  Dear ToastRob Productions readers, I apologize for my long absence.  I've not had the time, patience, or .....honestly... desire to do much of anything lately.  Looking at the date of my last posting, it was about 2 weeks before my desktop died.  Then it was another 2 or so weeks for the new laptop to get in.  And I haven't done any comic strips in that time.  So this is my first on the "new" laptop.  Right now the wifey and I share it, and we're looking into getting a second laptop.  One for me and one for her.  Along with this spontaneous return is a new (mis)Adventures strip.  Go forth, read.  Enjoy.   Until next time.

September 8, 2009Optimus Prime has landed on Earth with a special message for humankind.  Go check it out in the comic section.  I've heard it's very important.

July 25, 2009:  OH MY GOD! IT'S ALIVE! Hello, I'm back again. Oh, have you played Spore? A new expansion came out recently, and I've fallen back in love with the game. Now you can beam down to planets and do missions, there's even a mission creator to make your own. The creator is so detailed, bagillions of possibilities. Hmmm, I'd like to say that's the reason I've been lacking lately but that only came out a couple weeks ago. So obviously I have no excuse other than I'm a slacker. And that's about the truth. Oh yea! There's a new comic up today. Go check that out. And ummm, yea....I'm probably going to be working on my next adventure for Spore by the time you read this. Later, people!

May 9, 2009:  Ok, just a quick update.  Adding a link to my Facebook and Twitter pages in the Links section.

April 20, 2009:  Ok.  Enough with the laziness.  We picked up Photoshop some time ago ($50 at Circuit City's going out of business clearance sale), so now I'll be able to do even better things with the comics.  Not that I made use of it this time, but I can in the future!  The quality of the comic has definately improved from the first one, compare the more recent ones to the early ones, sharper images and just a higher quality look overall.  So here we go again.  New Cap & Matey.  Enjoy!
Minor fix: The Spore link in Links Elsewhere now actually links to my Sporepedia profile, for some reason it wasn't working.  Oh well, fixed now!

February 1, 2009And a happy new year....  What better way to end the first month of 2009 with a new Captain Pirateman & First Matey comic strip.  Also, I'm now on Facebook.  Just do a search for "ToastyRob" on there.  Enjoy!

December 24, 2008:  Merry CHRISTMAS!  So here it is.  Finally upon us.  I managed to get in one last update before the festivities begin.  Ironically, it's also my longest comic to date, at a whopping 10 panels!  Come to think of it, that's probably longer than most webcomics.  Also, I made a slight correction to 12/20's comic.  Steve was saying a line that Matey should have been saying.  Anyway...I'm outta here.  Got lots of family to be seeing.

December 20, 2008:  The holidays are coming at us full speed.  Next week is Christmas.  Wow, where did that come from?  Seems like just yesterday was Thanksgiving.  Time moves way to quick.  Where's the slow-motion button on this machine?  Anyway, I've been away because of the season.  Working retail this time of year is utter hell.  But I managed to get another one in before the end of the year.  Have a safe and happy one, in case I don't get to see you before then.

November 15, 2008:  Two months.  It took a little longer than expected, but today is the return of Captain Pirateman & First Matey from their unscheduled vacation.  I've got a sort of double feature for you.  The duo welcome you back then pick up the story where they left off, like nothing happened.  Need a bit of a refresher, or jumping in for the first time?  There's an archive with all the past episodes and interludes.  Welcome back seadogs.

September 14, 2008:  EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION!  So, where has Cap'n Pirateman & First Matey been?  Well, my digital camera decided to eat my SD card.  Everything that was on it was lost, and I can't even format it.  Why not use the USB cable to transfer photos?  Cuz I don't have it.  So for now, the duo is taking an unexpected vacation.  That just gives me more time to write down ideas and get things ready for when it resumes.

September 12, 2008:  SPORE!  Sunday (the 7th) was the release of EA Games newest sim game, Spore.  Oh my God it's addictive!  I literally spent almost 8 hours playing it Wednesday and didn't even realize it.  I would've kept playing, except I had to pick up my wife from work.  Not to do something halfway (housework being the exception), I picked up the Galactic Edition.  Which is basically the special edition.  It came with a DVD on the making of the game, as well as a special the National Geographic channel did on evolution and how Will Wright (the game's creator) and his team used that concept through the game.  There was also an art book that showed screen shots and concept drawings.  Very cool indeed.

August 17, 2008:  It's been almost a month since I was last here.  But that's life I guess.  I get updates whenever I'm able to, kind of a "in my free time" deal.  I have a new one up now, but it'll probably be a couple weeks more before the next one appears.

July 26, 2008:  Several new updates today.  New episode of Captain Pirateman & First Matey posted.   I've got the videos section up too.  I've linked to a few videos I've made.  The Tenchi AMV is an older one.  I made it several years ago.  There's also some Spore videos.  Everything's hosted on YouTube, and they're set to accepting comments.  So go view and comment.  Now puppet!  I kid, I kid.  So there you have it.  Enjoy!

July 5, 2008:  Welcome to yet another exciting chapter in the saga of Captain Pirateman and First Matey!  So, where have I been lately?  Well, a friend gave me a trial code for Dungeons and Dragons Online, so I've been checking that out.  And I also picked up a copy of Spore Creature Creator.  That's fun.  Start with a shapeless blob and turn it into something wonderful.....or horrific.  Here's some things I've created so far.  LINKY.  When I'm able to get it to run that is.  I'm sure it's because I have an older video card.

June 25, 2008:
Ok.  So there's been no update recently.  I've been extremely busy.  Working a lot.  This past weekend we went away to visit some friends in New Jersey.  Along the way we stopped at a mall.  One of the stores....a Playmobil Playland store.  Had to stop in and get a picture of the giant pirate outside the door.  Also I picked up some new toys for myself.  Heh, told ya I was addicted.  Click the image below for a full size shot of the statue.  I apologize for not having an update in a long time (and for the Cap'n).  Forgive me?

June 8, 2008:   New Captain Pirateman & First Matey up tonight.  Along with the new strip comes a new graphic by a friend of my wife who goes by "pinksalamander".  Thank you, it came out great!

June 4, 2008:  I know I haven't been sticking to my schedule lately, I've fallen behind.  But today they're back!  Also, I've added a new section: Videos.  Look for that to get updated soon.

May 21, 2008:  Captain Pirateman & First Matey return today.  The update came a little later in the day than I hoped, but it's there.  I've even picked up a bunch more of those Playmobil pirate toys.  Sweet jeebus they're addictive!  Look for an appearance from one of the newest additions.  And yes, he'll have returning roles.

May 18, 2008:  No Captain Pirateman & First Matey yesterday. I've just been too busy to get a new one done. So instead here's shot from the toybox taken by my brother-in-law. How the Transformers relaxed between shoots in the movie.

May 14, 2008:   Another episode of Captain Pirateman & First matey went up today. Now they actually have a ship so who knows what grand adventure awaits them! Provided the cap'n doesn't go shooting everyone they meet that is.

May 10, 2008:  Episode 2 of The (mis)Adventures of Captain Pirateman & First Matey is going up today.  I was a bit surprised, so far everyone who's seen it liked it and was looking forward to more, so it looks like I'll be doing updates on Wednesdays and Saturdays for the time being.  Those are currently the days I'm not really doing anything else and actually devote some time to the project.  I doubt it'll be up first thing in the morning, but I should have it updated by noon (Eastern time) on those days.  Also, I'm going to be working on a way to archive past episodes, so I don't just loose them.  Keep an eye out for that popping up soon.  So there ya have it.  Enjoy!  (Update:  I set up an archive.  It'll do for now.  Will have to look into improving on it later.)

May 7, 2008:  Today marks the official launch of The (mis)Adventures of Captain Pirateman and First Matey.  Huzzah!  I R happy.  I've been planning this for awhile, finally got around to writing it up and getting it posted.  Check it out!
